Tangie is an award-winning sativa-dominant hybrid strain with sought-after genetics. Tangie’s high THC content is between 15 and 20%, making her ideal for both experienced cannabis enthusiasts and beginners. At the same time, her strong citrus aroma and orange juice flavour make her iconic. If you want to grow a tasty strain, these cannabis seeds are for you.
Tangie Origins
Tangie attempts to recreate the similar Tangerine Dream of the 1990s. However, unlike Tangerine Dream (a cross of G13, Afghani, and a Haze), Tangie crosses California Orange and Skunk-1. The award-winning tangerine-inspired hybrid was developed in 1995 by Reserva Privada and the DNA Army. It even earned first place in the 2013 Cannabis Cup.
Tangie isn’t the first attempt to recreate the classic Tangerine Dream variety, but it’s the most common tangerine-flavoured variety. Even if you’re sure that you’re growing Tangie, the phenotype may differ depending on the breeder. Although there are a few different versions of Tangie, they all deliver a rich citrus flavour and a euphoric experience.
Feminised seeds
These are feminised seeds. Female plants, unlike male plants, are the ones that actually produce weed. They start flowering when they get less light per day, so in autumn, or when you manipulate the light cycle indoors.
Preferred Climate
Just like citrus fruit, Tangie Cannabis plants thrive in a tropical climate. These plants aren’t afraid of high heat or humidity but do best when kept between 68 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit. Tangie Cannabis plants can be more susceptible to a cold snap than other varieties, so keep an eye on the temperature when growing.
Flowering and yield
Tangie is a high quality variety and a robust plant that is rewarded with a short flowering period. It can be grown outdoors as well as indoors and produces generous yields of up to 15 ounces in about 8 to 9 weeks.
Tangie plants can get quite large – but that shouldn’t stop you from growing this variety indoors. It does need quite a bit of space to reach its full potential, but it can be done. If you decide to grow this strain outdoors, it’ll thrive. When you get to the last few weeks of flowering, you’ll notice quite a distinct colour and appearance. The plant has sticky flowers and bright green leaves with orange hairs.
Experience the Tangie strain

This strain is known for its uplifting and otherworldly high that is ideal for writing, drawing, building and hanging out with friends. Tangie is also known to provide a boost of energy, making it the perfect choice for a bit of “wake and bake”
The Tangie variety is also popular because there are hardly any negative effects. You can expect the usual dry mouth and cravings, but it takes it easy compared to other varieties. People prone to anxiety might experience anxiety or paranoia, but in moderation this is less likely.
Tangie smell and taste
Tangie smells, as you’d expect, of tangerines. It also smells of cinnamon and citrus and has a slight hint of lavender. The aroma of Tangie is perceptible yet pleasant, making it ideal for those looking for a bit of discretion.
The flavour of this cannabis strain is pure tangerine with linalool terpenes giving it a creamy quality. Tangie Weed is tart with a citrus note that is more citrusy than sweet. However, its fruity aromas qualify it as a dessert variety.
