Anyone who has ever been to a coffee shop has seen these delicious brownies on the counter and grabbed one. Have you ever wondered if you could make them yourself, with your favourite flavours, your favourite amount of weed and your favourite ingredients? Don’t worry, fellow stoners, we’ll help you make them.
The first thing you need to do is decarboxylate your weed. This means heating your ground weed in the oven to fully activate it.
But be careful: this recipe makes 16 potent brownies, we recommend never eating more than one at a time. Different strains have different levels of THC, and unless you want your high to wear off and you’re motor impaired, extremely sedated and possibly extremely anxious, you shouldn’t ingest too much THC. It can take up to 90 minutes for the full effects to kick in. So eat, enjoy, sit back and just wait for it to kick in.
Ingredients 1/8 ounce finely ground cannabis liquor 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter 4 ounces unsweetened quality chocolate 1 3/4 cups coconut blossom sugar 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 3 large eggs 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour 2/3 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Edibles Made Easy
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 240°F (115°C). Spread the cannabis evenly on a baking sheet. bake for 50 minutes (if using less cannabis, check the oven after 35 to 40 minutes). Remove from oven and set aside.
Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Add the decarboxylated (oven baked) cannabis and reduce the heat to a simmer. simmer for 45 minutes, then remove from the heat.
Pour the cannabutter through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a small glass measuring cup or bowl. Discard the cannabis solids or save them for cannabis tea.
Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C) and grease a 9x 13 inch glass baking dish with cooking spray.
Put the chocolate in a large glass bowl and melt it in the microwave or over a saucepan of simmering water.
Add the cannabutter to the melted chocolate and stir until combined.
Add the eggs one at a time and stir until fully incorporated.
Mix in the flour and walnut and/or mint, if using.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking tin and bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Let cool slightly, then cut into 16 pieces. Shop the leftovers – clearly marked when others are using your kitchen – in the fridge for up to a week or in the freezer for several months.
