We’ve all been there, you’re among a group of friends, you’ve got some of that delicious sticky-icky-icky weed. You’ve got a grinder, but, the only problem is you don’t know how to roll, luck turns out not anyone of your friends can roll a joint.
You could buy one of those rolling machines but I find nothing beats a good old hand-rolled joint. The pride you will feel when you look at it just before blazing it up I am sure is very similar to holding your first baby. The only difference is that in this case you can get your first baby for 5 times a day.
Step 1: Prepare All that you need to roll your joint
You will need the following tools to roll, make sure to prepare them before hand to avoid any unnecessary troubles while you’re midway through rolling a joint
- Grinder- You could technically grind the stuff with your hands, but as Wiz Khalifa says, “using your hands, that’s the mother-f*in stone-age nobody does that anymore.” and you cannot not agree with the Wiz.
- Rolling Papers- Find yourself some proper king size rolling papers – personal brand recommendation? RAW without a doubt
- Weed – Finally you need your own Marijuana.
Step 2: Prepare your filter
In order to be able to smoke properly, you will need to create a filter or as we call it a ‘roach’. You do this by rolling up a piece of carton until it is completely cylindrical, this will help your joint turn into a nice beautiful cone. Most rolling papers come with filters included.
Step 3 : Fill In The Ingredients
Grind the weed until it is completely torn up, fill in the rolling paper.
Keep in your mind to put the part with the glue on the upper part facing yourself
If you are mixing your weed with tobacco or any tobacco replacement product the general ratio to go for would be 2/1 in favor of weed.
Step 4: Roll the joint
Hold your joint from the bottom with one thumb on the filter and one a little bit further up so that the mix does not fall. Roll the mix in the paper for a little while until it becomes easier to roll. Now comes the tricky part.
Put both thumbs on the filter side quickly twisting the paper underneath the filter. Keep twisting outwards till you reach approximately around half of the joint whilst rolling up very slowly from the filter. Once you complete a whole single turn, simply repeat the same process this time going out towards the whole joint until you reach the glue. Once you reach the glue, give it a gentle lick until you finally roll it up completely and press the glue neatly with the paper.
Ta Da! You have managed to roll your own perfect joint. All eyes will be on you now all that’s left is for you to blaze it up, inhale and fly!
