With so many countries recently legalizing marijuana consumption both for medical and recreational use, the marijuana industry has been given a big push ahead and lets me tell you my fellow stoner there is just no way it is going back down in my opinion, it is simply too big. I still remember the times when in order to get access to some of that sticky-icky-icky you needed to hang around in a subway or in some shady playground where the dealer would simply sit around all day and the customers would simply line up all day. There were times when we would get punished for simply having an image of the marijuana plant on our phone, for being in possession of a joint etc. nowadays we are seeing cannabis products lined up in every cannabis store which simply just keep popping up everywhere around the world. People are embracing the cannabis industry more and more as every day passes and with such huge improvements in genetics and products available we cannot help but wonder, where will this lead us?
The Future Of Cannabis Seeds, Plants And The Industry:Further Improvements in Health Industry
Over the past years, we have seen spectacular improvements in the health industry using our favourite plant. We are seeing cancer patients being treated with cannabis, cannabis is also being prescribed to kids with cancer nowadays! Now, don’t get ahead of yourself, we do not recommend giving cannabis-related products to anyone who is not an adult under normal circumstances.
These kids though, don’t even know if they will be able to live up to next year, having to deal with excruciating pain in the meantime. Considering the present treatment available (chemotherapy) has been derived from mustard gas ( yes, mustard gas) as already discussed in our Marijuana and cancer article earlier this month.
Even though research on the positive effects of marijuana has never been abundant up till now, I am very confident that with marijuana being legalized, further research will now be done undoubtedly leading us to significant improvements in defeating cancer in more efficient and healthy ways.
We are now seeing and will definitely continue seeing research centres dedicated solely to Marijuana.
It has also been proven time and time again that marijuana can have a significant impact on mental health problems such as ADHD, Depression, Anxiety, Restlessness and Insomnia. Marijuana is already being prescribed in countries where marijuana has been legalized for medicinal purposes for these mental health problems. With the above-mentioned research taking place, get ready to see more and more solutions to mental health problems including marijuana, these may include more products ( edibles concentrates etc.) up to treatment facilities or programs where they use marijuana to help patients recover their life back!
Society Becoming More Open-Minded
Do you remember having to hide you have smoked a joint? Do you remember washing yourself in litres of cologne because of the judgement everyone around would inflict upon you simply because you have medicated in your favourite way? Well, I do, and let me tell you they were no fun times. Society has already become more open-minded when coming to marijuana after seeing the huge benefits this lovely plant can have. Some people who were all “Marijuana Is A Drug” have been forced to reconsider their opinion and many have now begun medicating with it for their own issues.
Everywhere you look over the internet you will undoubtedly find something which has to do with Marijuana from videos on Youtube on how to make any kind of cannabis concentrate. Endless recipes for any kind of edibles can be found with the snap of a finger nowadays and they just keep coming up!
I stand with the belief that marijuana will be the old lady’s favourite plant to put on her balcony in the coming times. We are already seeing boyfriends gifting their girlfriend cannabis plants for Valentine’s Day or as a Birthday gift. (My favourite kind of gift). Society has evolved nowadays and as times will continue to roll by it will keep evolving and realizing the huge benefits of marijuana in society and the world if used correctly.
More Countries And States Legalizing Marijuana
With so many countries have already legalized marijuana, let me tell you my fellow stoner, the ball is already rolling. The others will undoubtedly catch on in order for the society of that particular country not to fall behind on medicinal and social research. We will see more Cannabis clubs around the world, creative as any regular bar can be. ( Maybe a little more with so much ganja inspiration).
Pool bars will be offering Hookah, Bongs, Pre-rolled joints, and various strains by the gram by the pool to relax. Consuming cannabis will be the new fun adult-time activity
Restaurants all around the world will be dedicated solely to cooking recipes which include marijuana.
Imagine going to a business meeting, you both order dinner, get high and find a deal to make business together. Better than a glass of wine or a pint of beer in my opinion.

Further Improvements In Genetics
Astounding improvements have already taken place when it comes to genetics and cannabis and with so many growers passionate about their craft nowadays there is no way this is stopping here. We are seeing all types of strains with tastes ranging from sweet like strawberry, citrusy like lemon, spicy like pepper. All colours in the colour chart keep coming up on cannabis plants and with good reason, We all love to see that original purple, blue or bright green bud when growing our favourite strain.
Growers also aim to produce seeds which are capable to produce the same kinds of yields and products but in shorter times. Imagine what they will be able to do in 50 or 100 years.
More Practical Uses For Cannabis Plants
Cannabis is already in many of the products you can imagine out there. Ranging from edibles to oils, butter, lotions, shampoos, face masks, cologne, perfumes etc. Hemp can be used to make clothes or even rope!
This, in my opinion, proves that with time we will be able to find out much more about this beautiful plant and how it can serve society and us as human beings.
I am already imagining stuff like buildings being built solely with cannabis, cannabis museums etc.

Reducing the world’s reliance on fossil fuels is one of the biggest challenges of our time.
It turns out that cannabis may be one of the best options we have for creating renewable biofuel or biodiesel.
Researchers at the University of Connecticut have found that industrial hemp has properties that make it an “attractive” raw material for making sustainable biofuel.
The study found that hemp biodiesel showed high conversion efficiency — 97% of the hemp oil was converted to biodiesel — and it could be used at lower temperatures than any biodiesel currently available.
It’s been said that hemp biofuel is environmentally friendlier to produce than other alternatives, such as sugar beet, palm oil and corn.
So will we be running our cars on cannabis in the future?
Only time will tell.
Job Openings & Education
As the Cannabis Industry continues to expand, the demand for human resources has increased and will continue to increase substantially. This means that new jobs will be available and new skills will be discovered.
Schools and Medical schools will begin to educate our future generations properly on the properties of marijuana. Children will be amazed at how once this beautiful plant was strictly prohibited and then they will be able to see it everywhere they look.
Sort of how we Maltese reacted when we learned that there was a time when chocolate was prohibited from entering the country!
As there will be more careers available in the cannabis industry, there will be students aspiring to excel in this industry. Keep in mind this would have been thanks to the stoners back in the day who did not fear the oppression concerning Marijuana and wanted to live freely under any condition. This would have been all thanks to them so let’s take a moment to thank our fellow stoner heroes in heaven.
Taxation
A Taxation system will undoubtedly be placed in any country where this has become legalized. Money is what motivates society nowadays and any government wants their share. This is a good thing though, this is what will lead to the full legalization of marijuana. This is what will enable markets to open, this is what will allow research to be performed, and this is what will allow improvements in our society funnily enough.
The tax on marijuana-related products will need to be relatively low in order to be able to compete with the already established black market and the legacy cannabis market so that will be a relief for us fellow stoners.
Environmental Benefits
As the cannabis industry continues to expand further and further more and more cannabis plants will be grown.
Did You Know that a hectare of cannabis can absorb much more Co2 than any hectare of forest or jungle?
That means it takes CO2 from the atmosphere and stores it in the soil through a process called carbon sequestration.
Hemp is known to grow quickly in a wide range of nutrient-poor soils with small amounts of water and little to no fertilisers, making it one of the most efficient CO2 converters on earth.
As we continue to plant more and more cannabis trees, more and more Co2 will be absorbed and the planet will ultimately be a fresher cleaner place.
There’s a lot of talk about planting more trees to save the planet, but it turns out cannabis may be a superior alternative.
